Things to watch for
don't put landlord fees online at all. You'd have to ring round.
are still using fee lists from 2021 to 2023. Ask for this year's prices.
don't say whether VAT is extra. A 12% fee plus VAT is really 14.4%.
Questions landlords ask
How is this different from sites that ask for my postcode and phone number?
Those sites usually pass your details to agents who pay for leads. Here you just see the fees agents publish and decide who to contact yourself.
Why a £700 a month property?
It's close to a typical North East rent, and using one figure makes every agent comparable.
My agent isn't in the list. Why?
53 agents don't publish landlord fees online, so there's nothing to compare. Each area page says how many.
Is the cheapest agent the best one?
